Netflix co-founder and former CEO, Marc Randolph, joined me in this week's episode of Foot Traffic. Our conversation was beyond inspiring and Marc shared so much about what it means and what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.
You’ll especially want to listen to his explanation of why owning a successful business - like Netflix - isn’t simply about having a good idea.

Marc Randolph is a veteran Silicon Valley entrepreneur, advisor, and investor. As co-founder and founding CEO of Netflix, he laid much of the groundwork for a service that’s grown to 150 million subscribers, and fundamentally altered how the world experiences media.
He also served on the Netflix board of directors until retiring from the company in 2003. He’s founded or co-founded six other successful startups, mentored hundreds of early stage entrepreneurs, and as an investor has helped seed dozens of successful tech ventures (and just as many unsuccessful ones).

Creating company culture should be on the top of every small business owner's list. As I was heading to my team outing today it reminded me how value company culture really is. People will take a pay cut and leave their job where they are well established because they don't like their boss, their manager, or one of the other employees. Money isn't the only reason people stay. They want to be acknowledged, appreciated, and respected in the workplace.
