No matter what kind of business you run, the two biggest areas you need to focus on are the development of your product, program, or service and then the marketing of that product, program, or service. (minute 2:00)

People will get to know you faster than you think, so you need to have something that you can actually sell. If you don’t have something to sell, you’ll be losing out on sales. (minute 3:00)

Today we will be answering another question from one of our listeners. Jen wants to know how to decide which conferences she should attend and if I have any tips for making the most out of a conference.

It’s about the content. At minute 1:00, I talk about how to decide if the content a conference provides is something that you need right now or if it’s something that can wait.

You will also need to take into consideration the host and the speakers of the conference. At minute 2:00, I talk about how to choose conferences based on who will be there.

Jim Jozwiak has been an entrepreneur all his life. Starting young as a professional trumpet player for 25 years, Jim worked with some of the giants in the entertainment world. 17 time Grammy award winner Tony Bennett, Mel Tormé, Ella Fitzgerald, the Rock and Roll Hall of fame Temptations, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and scores of others, including playing at President Clinton’s first inaugural in Washington D.C. In 1984, Jim founded Band For Today which is an outsource company for music education to schools. In 2013 the company went national and is now running in 15 cities in 5 states. In the 30 years since the company was founded, Band For Today has provided music education for over 30,000 students.
