Clients that say they aren’t getting results are the ones that do the least amount of work.
This is a fact.
But many business owners assume that consuming content, training, and lessons will automatically mean they’re working.
Clearly, that’s not the case.
There is a clear distinction between consuming content and taking action.
In this episode of the Foot Traffic Podcast, I reveal how your business could actually grow faster.

That’s an inevitability.
But you can still make sure that they stay as long as possible in your business.
Why bother?
Well simply put…
It’s a lot cheaper and easier to focus on loving existing clients…
…than it is to work on attracting new ones.
In this episode of the Foot Traffic Podcast, I discuss four ways you can create client touchpoints and make them stay loyal… and get them raving about you to more of your ideal clients.

On today's podcast I am sitting down with Susie Tomenchok, who works with individuals and organizations to unleash their negotiation guru for increased professional success. She believes that when people learn how to use negotiation strategies every day, they create more opportunities and walk away with a win when it matters most.
Susie learned negotiation skills on-the-job. She worked with Fortune 100 companies for the majority of her career where she lead a sales team closing a portfolio of business valued at more than $80 million annually. Clients include media companies like ESPN, Discovery, and Boeing.
In today's episode, we cover...
• Hidden negotiation opportunities in your business
• Reframing “no” as a starting point instead of an end
• Using the power of silence to close more clients
• Why it’s critical to “just ask” to accelerate your results
• A simple framework to unlock your creativity
Susie doesn't believe in using manipulation to get what you want and she shares with us how to do it and make it a win-win for everyone involved.

On today's podcast, I sat down with New York Times Best Selling Author, Gretchen Rubin. Gretchen is one of today’s most influential and thought-provoking observers of happiness and human nature. She’s known for her ability to distill and convey complex ideas with humor and clarity, in a way that’s accessible to a wide audience.
She’s been interviewed by Oprah, eaten dinner with Daniel Kahneman, walked arm-in-arm with the Dalai Lama, had her work written up in a medical journal, been the subject of a “The Talk of the Town” piece in The New Yorker magazine, and been an answer on the game show Jeopardy!
She’s the author of many books, including the blockbuster New York Times bestsellers, The Four Tendencies and Better Than Before. Her book The Happiness Project has sold more than one million copies, been published in more than thirty languages, and spent more than two years on the New York Times bestseller list, including at #1.
In her books, she draws from cutting-edge science, the wisdom of the ages, lessons from popular culture, and her own experiences to explore how we can make our lives happier, healthier, more productive, and more creative.
I asked Gretchen questions like...

We are about to change things up here at Foot Traffic, and I already know the kinds of reactions we are going to get. I’ve been in business for 20 years this month and over the years I have rebranded or up leveled my business many times. When I do, it definitely draws attention from current customers, past clients, and even potential clients that were once sitting quietly.
People start saying things like, "wow, you guys are really killing it," or "things look like they are going really well". There is a perception that comes with a fresh look. You now how you feel when you go get a hair cut or fresh color, you get the new iPhone, a new car... you just feel better.
This is what it feels like to your customers when you update an old website, enhance your videos on social, or gain clarity on your ideal client.

How much money are you leaving on the table not following up with your best clients that are no longer with you?
We recently got a new RV a year ago and we had slim pickings on getting a spot for Memorial Day weekend but thankfully found something. It was our first experience and we had nothing to compare it to so our overall impression was it was “nice”. We said things like, it was good and we had fun, but there was no over the top reaction. Then we went to a few more that summer and fall and all we kept comparing the new campgrounds to was the first one. We had no idea how spacious the lots were, how safe it was for our kids to be wondering on their own, that dog parks are not standard, or that hiking trails are a huge perk. We didn’t realize how good we had it until we tried other places. Do you know how many times that happens with our clients? They leave thinking let’s try something new and sometimes they realize I should have stayed.
How can we remind them?
This is where a reactivation strategy comes into play. This is one of the concepts that we teach inside of our program, Well-oiled Operations.
How to Create a Reactivation Strategy
Identify who you want to reactivate
Create a rhythm of a touch point
Direct ask when the timing is right
Tell them what’s new and what you've done since they left
We call this strategy WOO & WOW. To grab our Ways to Wow Cheat Sheet. DM on Instagram @stacytuschl. Just say "wow" and I'll send it over completely free.

When you begin to delegate more tasks and responsibilities to your team you can easily become stumped as to what to give them to do. Today we’re talking about gaining clarity on your vision in a way that allows you to reverse engineer your long-term goals and break them down into smaller tasks. To grab the PDF download of an example of what this has looked like inside Foot Traffic, dm me on Instagram ‘CLARITY’ and we’ll send it to you. You can find me @stacytuschl
You’re getting caught up in the day-to-day maintaining your status quo but that isn’t getting you any closer to your goals of increasing your revenue. Things are feeling mundane and monotonous and your team members aren’t especially fired up about their daily tasks. We’ve got to get crystal clear on the movement and impact of each activity.
5 Steps to Turning Your Goals into Tasks
1. Reassess for the biggest impact look at data to tell you or start tracking
2. Identify activities not producing results (either pause or stop)
3. Calendar those activities with consistency
4. Overestimate timeline in your favor
5. Hold yourself and others accountable
Number 5 is probably the hardest and most important one. How often are you keeping your commitments to yourself? Be aware of that. It's a big deal, even if no one knows but you. The better you get at this the more progress you will see. When my alarm went off today at 4:50am, do you think I was excited to get out of bed? No, but I made a commitment to get up and start my day, so I did. It's much easier to keep others accountable. You’re paying for results, so as long as you track what are they working on this week and today, you’ll move closer every day.

According to a Gallup poll, the cost of replacing an individual employee can range from one-half to two times the employee's annual salary.
Today we’re talking about why it’s important to prioritize rewarding your employees and there’s a PDF download, dm me on Instagram @stacytuschl ‘REWARD’ to get the list of 20 Ways to Reward Your Employees
I bet right now you have someone on your team who is either considering leaving or you’re thinking of replacing them. How can you make retention a priority item on your ever-growing to-do list? It’s actually because your to-do list is so long that you need to prioritize keeping your employees and motivating them to perform at their best.
3 Ways to Reward Employees and Improve Retention
Frequent, meaningful conversations with employees. Gallup research also reveals that over half of employees (51%) who leave voluntarily say that in the three months before they left, neither their manager nor any other leader spoke with them about their job satisfaction or future with the organization.
1. Acknowledgment and recognition – Giving shoutouts at team meetings or leaving notes on a job well done goes a long way when it comes to team morale.
2. Opportunities for growth - You might also consider delegating more responsibility or leadership opportunities.
3. Professional development – Consider purchasing a course or educational resource to encourage your team members to continue learning and growing in their roles.
When you make keeping your team members with you a priority, you also keep Problem-solvers, Leaders, Customer-service, Morale, and Productivity which means if you lose team members and these other essential aspects of your business, you risk adding more to your to-do list. Remember to dm me on IG @stacytuschl ‘REWARD’ for the PDF 20 Ways to Reward Your Employees.

Avoiding conflict or difficult conversations with your team members isn’t going to magically make a situation better. In fact, the longer you put it off, the worse it’s going to get.
With intentional communication strategies, you can let your team members know what needs to change in a caring and respectful way.
Things aren’t always done in alignment with your business best practices or company values. This could be because team members don’t fully believe that the system in place is essential or it could be because the system wasn’t clearly communicated.
In any case, the needs of the business need to be intentionally communicated and you can’t let that team member continue to not meet your expectations.
When you practice intentional communication guidelines, difficult conversations become easier and situations improve for everyone.
3 communication guidelines in this episode:
Be Honest – state the facts and honestly express the consequences of the person’s actions.
Use “I statements” – “I’ve noticed” “I believe” “I am in a difficult situation because of…” always avoid blaming or harmful, hurtful statements. If you aren’t able to maintain composure, postpone the conversation.
Use logic vs. emotion – acknowledge the emotion first with empathy and then move on to the logic/solution.
Taking the lead on improving communication will have a ripple effect on your team and clients.
Comment ‘COMMUNICATION’ on this Facebook Post in our Facebook group to receive the PDF with these 3 tips I discussed here and other helpful suggestions to keep in mind.

You probably have certain consistent responsibilities for your team members. But when you think about those requirements are the tasks that they’re assigned sales-focused and clearly defined toward a specific goal? My guess is probably not. You and your leaders need to be setting goals by looking at your data.
In today's episode, taken from our weekly live free training inside the Scale Your Small Business Facebook group, we’re talking about how to create KPIs.
Your team probably has tasks like posting on social media a certain number of times per week, sending emails to current customers, and assessing your most reliable source of lead generation.
But if their tasks aren’t goal oriented and sales-focused, they likely don’t feel very fired up about what they’re doing and can’t appreciate how the work they do contributes to the bigger picture of the success of your business.
From your perspective, it’s easy to feel frustrated outsourcing tasks to team members without being able to identify the return on that investment. When you set up KPIs that are clearly defined and sales-focused, everyone knows exactly what they are working towards and why.
Here are three key takeaways you can expect from this training:
1. How many KPI's should be assigned to each team member and how to decide where they need to focus.
2. Possible reasons KPI's don't get met and what to do if (when) that happens.
3. How to incorporate the KPI's for each team member into their performance reviews.
A small team that focuses intentionally on a few KPIs for each member will see quicker and more measurable results than a team of 20 who isn’t tracking KPIs.
To get started creating them for your business, head over to this Facebook post and comment METRICS to get a list of 75 ideas.

Especially as you are transferring responsibility to team members they won’t always do everything perfectly. Rather than doubting your decisions to delegate, you can see mistakes as a learning experience for everyone and a chance to increase your customer retention.
We’ve all had the experience of being so frustrated by a business’s mistake that we decide never to spend our time or money there again. But when you think back to those times, consider if it was truly that they made a mistake that was so off putting or if it was the way they handled it.
I bet that when a business that has delivered excellent services or products in the past takes ownership of their mistakes and offers a chance at reconciliation you would take it rather than searching for another provider of that offer.
In today's episode, taken from the weekly training inside the Scale Your Small Business Facebook group, I'm sharing three steps to turning mistakes into lifelong customers.
1. I'm revealing tips for how to actually plan for mistakes to happen and why it's so important that you do.
2. When a mistake does occur, you can take ownership in a professional way and I'll share what that has looked like in my businesses.
3. I'm sharing my thoughts on how to consider the needs and wants of your customer and offer a small opportunity to make an apology and show your appreciation for their continued business.
To get a copy of the "oops card" we use at my dance studio when a mistake happens (and it does) head on over and comment 'oops' on this post in the Facebook group and we'll send it to you!

Today we're talking all about how to test new marketing strategies (without tanking your results).
There are three main reasons to be cautious about jumping on every new marketing strategy you hear.
In today's episode, I'll tell you how I keep myself from getting tripped up with new strategies because of the three things I know about other entrepreneurs who share "what's working" for them.
Three key takeaways from this episode:
1. The advice I'm sharing here doesn't exclusively apply to marketing. You can use it to test and strategize with hiring, time management, etc.
2. When you need to try out a strategy and most importantly when you really don't.
3. If you decide to test something new, how to do so in a way that will be easy to track and eliminate confusion.
It's really easy to fall into thinking that every new strategy you hear is going to be "the thing" that blows your results out of the water. I hope you come away from this episode knowing exactly how to see new ideas as a theory and how to test them without wiping out the success you're already experiencing.
